I finally made it to Homeroom, an amazing little Oakland restaurant that features, mostly, just variations of Mac and Cheese. It’s a welcoming, amazing space with delicious and affordable food served amidst quirky, schoolhouse-evoking decor, and is already one of my very favorites.

My name is Genie. I was born in Washington D.C., where, in fact, people garden. I was not one of those people. In September 2005, I moved to Iowa. In April 2006, I decided to plant some herbs in a couple of pots. Next thing I knew, I had a garden.
